Our Visit
Hurray, Hurray, We are on our way.
Our long awaited visitation starts today!!!!!
technology meets old world

Last week Brian and I went up to the cabana for a week to celebrate our anniversary. The cabana (cabin) is on a hill with not much level ground. It had been raining alot prior to our arrival so we thought it wouldn't be too good to park the van on the grassy hillside but at the same time the road there is fairy narrow without much shoulder room for parking. On top of that they are doing road construction right in front of the cabana so the road is narrrowed to one lane. Needless to say we decided that it would be much smarter to take our chances with the hillside. It took all of ten minutes after driving through the gate to know that the van was not going to get back up that hill under its own power. We weren't stuck in mud but everything was wet enough that we just couldn't get traction. We decided to just leave it there for the week and enjoy our time, then work on it later. When time came to leave, as we all ready knew, we were going nowhere. Brian tried to put boards under the front tires for traction but it didn't help. After working on it for half an hour or so the neighbor came out in the field and took his horses to the barn as is pretty normal behaviour. A few minutes later he came around through the gate that we need to go through with his two horses harnessed up to the wagon. He backed up to the front of the van and hooked on a tow rope. Brian hopped in the van to try assisting with some power and up the hill they went. I was down in the cabana and just had to take pictures of this grand event. :) I'm afraid the pictures aren't real clear because of the distance, angle and rain but I hope you enjoy what you can see.

chickens at church
Today we had some new visitors at church. Part way through the service I had to leave because Sage was getting too noisey. When I went into the courtyard to go to the house I was suprised by a pair of chickens wandering around looking for a place to roost. Apparently the neighbors new chickens were a little too smart and figured out how to get out of the pen they were in. The kids all had a GREAT time after church going around the courtyard trying to find the lost chickens and round them back up.
First hellos
